Daniel read French and German at the University of St Andrews before his first teaching position at the University of the Sorbonne in Paris where he worked as a Lecteur for first and second year students and delivered seminars on international business English to finalists. He has taught throughout France and Germany before studying for his PGCE at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. Whilst working in Senior Leadership in Cambridgeshire, he completed his Master of Education at St Catharine's College, University of Cambridge specialising in Educational Leadership and School Improvement.
Daniel has worked in Senior Leadership since 2010 and has led two English schools as Headmaster, most recently the HMC Catholic Day and Boarding School Mount St Mary's College in Derbyshire where he took it to its appearance on the Sunday Times Parent Power List in 2021 - a feat no other Headmaster at "The Mount" had ever achieved - and even got to see his first XV win the National U18 Rugby Vase at Twickenham.
An accomplished public speaker, in 2020, he participated as guest for the University of Warwick’s international inter-disciplinary conference hosted by the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, “Rainbows in our windows - childhood in the time of corona” with his paper published in their anthology.
